Guided tour in Ukrainian in May 2022

The Ehrensvärd Society wants to support Ukrainian refugees in Finland and offers free guided tours in Ukrainian language at Suomenlinna, the World Heritage Site of UNESCO.

The guided tours are organized on Mondays at 11.15 in May 2022.

The tours start at Suomenlinna from the ferry harbour.

The duration is approx. 1 hour.

Participate safely on a guided tour

We can together ensure our safety during a guided tour by following common rules.

Keep your distance from other participants. Our guides ensure that the safety distances are kept during the tour and give you instructions how to move in narrow spaces.

Keep your hands clean.

Join a guided tour only if you are feeling well. Also our guides work only if they are well.

Sneeze and cough into your elbow.

Although the tour is mainly outdoors, do not touch anything.

The construction works of one of the biggest Nordic fortresses, Suomenlinna, begun in 1748. The best way to get to know the fascinating story behind the World Heritage Site of UNESCO, Suomenlinna fortress, is to join a guided tour.

During the guided walking tour an authorised Suomenlinna-guide tells about the 270 years of eventful history of Suomenlinna under the rule of three different states as well as the life on the islands today. The guide will take you to the most important sights of the fortress, such as the Great Courtyard and the Dry Dock, which in its days was among the largest in the world.

May 4 - 28 Wednesdays and Saturdays at 13:30

June 1 - June 26 every day at 13:30

June 27 - August 31 every day at 10:30 and 13.30

The tours start from the Suomenlinna Centre (Suomenlinna Museum). Duration one hour. It takes only 15 minutes to ge to Suomenlinna from the Market Square: you can find the ferry timetables and the ticket prices here. Suomenlinna can be also reached from the first of May to the mid-September by a JT-Line water bus from  the Market Square.  You can find the timetables for the waterbus here.

The guide service is subject to permits in Suomenlinna. Guides are authorised by the Ehrensvärd Society in cooperation with the National Board of Antiquities and the Governing Body of Suomenlinna. In order to ensure the quality of the guide services, only Ehrensvärd Society is allowed to offer guide services in Suomenlinna.
